Providing a clean environment to protect samples, improve efficiency and provide safety is important in an automated laboratory environment.  Robotic workstations are utilized to provide a high level of throughput while minimizing contamination.  Often laboratories use various enclosures to provide more protection and proper ventilation for laboratory personnel, the product and the environment depending upon the research application and the level of containment that is required.  Our partnership with Flow Sciences, an industry leader in custom containment solutions, has enabled us to provide a variety of custom designed/built robotic enclosures based on the needs of our customer. 

Personnel Protection Enclosure (Vented Robotic Enclosure)
This type of vented robotic enclosure is designed to provide protection for laboratory personnel.  It is a vented enclosure with a face opening that provides negative pressure allowing particles and vapors to be drawn out of the enclosure and into a HEPA filtration unit or to existing house-exhaust.

Product Protection Enclosures (Clean Environment for Lab Automation, CELA)
This is a custom vented robotic enclosure that provides a better than Class 1000 clean air environment with a HEPA filtered down flow. This then produces a clean air curtain around the equipment.

Dual Protection Enclosures (FBC) (Lateral Flow Bio-Containment Enclosures) (Patent No. 6,896,712))
Flow Sciences’ flexible, energy efficient lateral flow design was specially developed to accommodate the longer layouts and various shapes encountered with robotic designs. Their patented design offers both product and personnel protection.
