Its reduced minimum height of 77 5/8” (1972 mm) and lighter build (about 100 lbs / 45.4 kg less) make it easier to navigate tight doorways and lower ceilings during installation. Mounted on a wheeled, motorized base stand, it can be moved into position and adjusted to the optimal working height for each technician, improving ergonomics and workflow efficiency. With HEPA-filtered laminar airflow and dual air barrier protection, the station safeguards animal welfare and minimizes allergen exposure — now in a smaller, lighter, and more adaptable form. This means facilities gain the same robust protection and flexibility they expect from NuAire, with a design that fits seamlessly into space-limited vivariums.
Quieter Running with the Same Powerful Airflow
The familiar push-pull airflow dynamics vivariums expect are maintained, while a newly designed downflow diffuser optimizes airflow around the perimeter of the work surface. An enhanced motor plenum above the diffuser reduces noise, ensuring animal protection through consistent airflow and greater operator comfort during daily cage-changing tasks.
A Taller Access and Better Ergonomics in a Smaller Profile
Despite its lighter footprint and lower profile, this generation enhances ergonomics with a 16” (406 mm) work access height and a slightly expanded work zone. The segmented work surface can be easily removed for cleaning, while sloped airflow grills around the perimeter help prevent cages from blocking airflow slots, maintaining a clean environment for animals.
A Red Light Option for Animal Comfort
A dedicated red work zone light can be used in place of the standard white light, allowing technicians to perform cage-changing tasks without disturbing nearby animals. This option supports nocturnal animal comfort, helping reduce stress during handling while maintaining workflow efficiency in the vivarium environment.
