Forced Convection Ovens (Mechanical)

Forced convection laboratory ovens circulate heated air with an internal fan. They generally recover faster after the door opens and maintain more consistent conditions throughout a loaded chamber. Common uses include drying, curing, heat treatment, aging, and materials testing.

Start with the working temperature and load size. Then look at chamber capacity, uniformity, fluctuation, recovery time, controller features, and voltage. Check performance data at your expected setpoint because results can vary by model and shelf load.

Fan airflow is not right for every sample. Powders, foils, and other lightweight materials may shift or become contaminated. A natural convection oven may be a better choice when minimal air movement is important. Do not process flammable or combustible materials unless the exact model is rated for that use.

LabRepCo carries forced convection ovens from BINDER, Memmert, SHEL LAB, and Jeio Tech. Current series include BINDER FD, FD-S, FED, and FP; Memmert UF; SHEL LAB SMO; and Jeio Tech OF4. Product pages list available sizes, controls, power requirements, and options.
