Natural Convection Ovens (Gravity)

Natural convection laboratory ovens rely on the rise of warm air instead of a fan. This creates a low-airflow chamber for powders, foils, lightweight specimens, and other samples that may be disturbed by forced air. These models are also called gravity convection ovens.

Without a circulation fan, heat-up and recovery can be slower. Review the manufacturer’s uniformity, fluctuation, and recovery data at the setpoint you plan to use. Chamber size, shelf arrangement, and load can also affect performance.

Natural convection does not make an oven safe for flammable or combustible materials. Use those materials only in equipment specifically rated for the application. Check material compatibility and local safety requirements before operation.

LabRepCo carries natural convection ovens from BINDER, Memmert, SHEL LAB, Jeio Tech, and Benchmark Scientific. Current series include BINDER ED and ED-S, Memmert UN, SHEL LAB SGO, Jeio Tech ON4, and Benchmark SureTemp. Product pages list current sizes, controls, power requirements, and options.
